Max Herrlich, son of Ferdinand and Johanna Herrlich, deceased, was born October 3d, 1857, in Saxony, Germany. 

At the age of eleven years he bade adieu to the familiar scenes of the fatherland and landed in Philadelphia, Pa.; remaining there for a while, he came to Indianapolis and lived here for several years. 

About twenty-four years ago he moved to New Palestine, Ind., where he engaged in the undertaking business, until his death, which occurred at 7:30 a. m., April 27th (1909).  He is survived by a widow (Mary Bechert Herrlich), six daughters (Emma, Lulu, Anna, Nellie, Julia, and Lucile) and one son, Charles Herrlich, who will continue in the business. 

Funeral services will take place Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p. m. from his home and at the German Evangelical Zion's Church, in New Palestine, at 2 p. m. 

Interment will be at Crown Point Cemetery (now known as New Palestine Cemetery), near New Palestine, Ind., to which all friends are invited.

Dear Family

We have thought about you often after we moved away.  We remember all the fun parties we had at your house.  Especially the one where everyone made funny hats.  What fun we had.
